FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I'm interested in your services; how do I book a date with you?
If you haven't already done so, send me an email or send me a message. For weddings, I will need a $500 retainer and a signed contract to hold your date. Full payment is due four weeks before the event. Let me know soon so your date doesn't get booked! Fall weddings get booked very quickly.
For all other occasions, no deposit is needed and payment is due the day of the session.
How many pictures will I get from our wedding or photoshoot?
It depends on how long I'm there. If you purchased a wedding package with unlimited time, the number of images can be over 5,000. If I'm doing a 90 minute session with your 3 year old, that count will be significantly less! Generally speaking, a 90 minute session will have around 250 images.
Regardless of the session you choose, I give you all your original images. These do not have a water mark or logo of any kind.
Will you have a second photographer for our wedding?
Yes; I love having a second photographer at weddings. I am always your primary photographer and contact, but for weddings it's nice to have alternative angles and perspectives.
For all other occasions, unless specifically requested I come alone. These sessions are usually more intimate and one on one time is usually the best for families, portraits, and babies.
What form of payments do you accept?
I accept checks, cash, and credit cards (Visa or Mastercard with processing fee).
Are you insured?
Absolutely! Infact, my insurance agent booked me for his daughter's wedding!
When do we get to see our pictures?
If you had a wedding with me and you're local, we can meet up after a week so I can deliver a USB drive of your original images to you.
If you're not local or our schedules just don't line up, I will mail you the drive!
For any other session, I will deliver your photos through my website. You will receive a personalized download link for all your original images within a week of your session.
What happens next?
It's time for you to select the images that you would like to be edited! If you need help selecting images, I would be more than happy to aid you at this point. I have a guide written about how to do this. If I haven't given it to you or you've misplaced it, send me an email and I'll get you a copy!
Ok, I've got my images selected. How soon will they be edited?
This depends on the time of year. If you have a spring or fall wedding or session, it might take a little longer than summer or winter. Typical turn around time on all edited images is 6 to 8 weeks.
Where should I print my photos?
The best place to print them is right here on my website. The print lab that I use is White House Custom Color. They produce the highest quality prints that will stand the test of time.
With all my photography, I give you a reproduction release form that allows you to print your images anywhere. Please beware that not all printers are the same. Big box stores do not have the equipment to print professional photographs and retain their resolution.
If you're looking for a local place for some last minute printing, I would recommend Roberts Camera in Carmel or Indy.
How can my family and friends see our pictures?
Right here! I host your images on my website for 5 years. After that point in time, I will contact you to let you know I am taking your images down.
What if I don't want my photos online?
I have three options if you don't want your images to be viewable to the public:
First: I can make your galleries unlisted. This means only someone with a direct link can find your photos, and you can still share them with friends and family. Technically, they're still online, but they will not be readily viewable by the public.
Second: I can password protect your galleries. This can be done independently of unlisting the gallery. You can have either or both!
Third: I can store nothing online, and the only copy of your images you will receive is on your supplied USB drive. This will make it harder to share your images, but if you really don't want images online, this is the safest method.
Do you have a travel fee?
If you're within 20 miles of our home in the Westfield/Carmel area, I don't charge for travel. If you're outside of that radius, I charge $0.75 per mile. If travel requires flying, the flight fee and room cost will be added to your account.
What kind of gear do you use?
Camera Bodies: 3x Canon 5D Mark 4's
Lenses: Canon L 70-200, Canon L 24-70, Canon L 24-105
Flashes: 5x Canon 600EX-RT, 5x Battery Pack CP-E4 These flashes make traveling fun and easy and will light up a huge group or ballroom.

Editing: 27" iMac w/ Retina Display (fondly named Junior because he's the youngest of the Mac clan in our home), Lightroom and Photoshop
Storage: Thunderbolt hard drive dock, Over 30 HDD's with each gallery in two locations and online
